About Slipper Socks
You know you love going to the hospital and getting dressed in the beautiful gown and if that was not enough to make your heart sing... they give you the socks, yes you know the ones, the slipper socks.
Although they are not the prettiest footwear you can sport, they do go well with the hospital gown provided to you. Aside form the fact of the obvious, they are kind of ugly, they do offer some benefits. If you are in the hospital and are in good enough shape to make your way to the bathroom on your own or take a walk down the hallway, you do want to keep it that way and not injure yourself any further, so the socks offer you the protection you need against slips and falls.
Today you may be offered slipper socks that actually look like slippers, these are comfortable and they are more stylish. The slipper socks in this style resemble more of a house shoe than a sock. If you are lucky enough to have a pair of these given to you, keep them around, they come in handy on cold evenings at home.
There are many colors and styles to choose from, but you will be at the mercy of the health care providers, what ever style they have chosen will be what you receive. They do protect you and keep you safe, the hospital floors can be slick and they are always cold, so the slipper socks are very efficient for the purpose they serve.
One good point to the slipper socks is that they are washable and can be reused, so once your hospital stay is over, throw them in your bag and bring them home with you, they will last you for quite a while. The material is very breathable and stretching keeping your feet warm without sweating them.
Slipper socks are available not only to adult patients but to children patients as well. We all know that once your little one is feeling better, keeping them in the bed is no easy task. If they had a few nights of a hospital stay their energy level will be off the charts as all that pent up energy looks for a release. Nothing would be more unfortunate to have them slip and fall before they have recovered and to have to start the process all over again.
Before you stick your nose up to the socks your nurse brings you and refuse to wear them, keep in mind, you are in the hospital, the gown you have on has not been on any runways lately, and the main goal is to get out of there as quickly as possible and back home to your family and friends.
Put the socks on your feet, walk with pride, knowing that your feet are warm and not touching that cold hospital floor, and you don’t have to worry about taking a spill in the hospital hallway, because if you think about it, those gowns are open in the back, so the chance of you keeping your modesty after falling in one those is slim to none.
